THE AUSTIN AMERICAN STATESMAN

MAY 16, 2008

Michael Christopher McManus,
a very kind and gentle man, died Monday evening at the age of 38. He was born February 7, 1970, in Houston, Texas,
and grew up in both Houston and Corpus Christi before settling in Austin as a
young man. In his early years here,
he both attended and worked at Austin Community College. For the past decade, he worked for the University of Texas Learning Technology Center providing technical support for the lab.

He was highly regarded in all areas of his life. His work colleagues fully appreciated his good nature, his patience, and his inquisitive mind. He had many long-term friends with whom he shared a passion for gaming, films, and good food. And he was deeply loved by his family.

He is survived by his mother Barbara Delano, his father James McManus, his brothers James and Thomas, his sister Mary Margaret, and their families.

Services will be held at the Weed Corley-Fish Funeral Home on Friday, May 16. Visitation and remembrances will begin at 11 am and the memorial service will begin at 12 noon.
